Alpha Tau Congratulates Soror Kenya Warren, Miss Southern University 2010-2011
It's been FIVE years since the Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. continued the legacy of Miss Southern University since 1929! Alpha Tau would like to congratulate Soror Kenya Warren as Miss Southern University for 2010-2011.
Soror Warren is a 20 year old biology major from New Orleans, Louisiana and a Spring 2009 initiate of the Alpha Tau Chapter. She's been a part of the Student Government Association since her Sophomore year as a Senator, then the following year she was the 2009-2010 Miss Junior. She’s an executive board member of Up ‘Til Dawn, a third year Jaguar Preview Orientation Leader, and a Who’s Who Among Colleges and Universities. At this year’s 50th National Convention in New Orleans, she will be graduating from Leadership Delta.
Kenya is eager to continue a familiar project, "Up Til' Dawn", which was created from a former Miss Southern University from Alpha Tau, Enitra Jones. She plans to maintain the curb appeal of the university through campus beautification, reaching out to the community with the adoption of Scotlandville Magnet High School, and working to retain students at our beloved university.
